HOW TO INSTALL AFCAD FILES?

Postby Stefan Breuer » Fri Sep 27, 2002 11:56 am

It was noted, that the installation routine of EWPROF sometime causes problems while installing the ATC Traffic tracks to the FS2002 system. These problems obviously occur on PC´s running the WIN XP / 2000 and WIN98SE operating systems.

If you note problems (airports other than EWPROF airports are not present any more ) please read the following manual to solve this problem:

Download the AFCAD files for the download area on this page.

AFCAD Files are normal ASCII text files, describing the ATC Traffic and frequencies used for each airport. To install these files into FS2002 you need to download a freeware program called AFCAD v1.2.2 written by Lee Swordy.

Please try following source:
ftp://205.252.89.41/dynamic/a5/a59cf1fb ... cad122.zip (Note: meanwhile ERROR-Link, search for it in AVSIM-Library)

This program contains a help function, explaining the very easy use of AFCAD. Please contact this help system, if you are not sure how to use the program.

Please note, the content of the a/m AFCAD Files will be automatically installed into the correct FS2002 system files, for immediate use.
In case of EWPROF the following system files are use:
EURNWAFD.BGL for the airports of STN / AMS / THF / DTM
EURSWAFD.BGL for the airports of CDG / OLB

Prior the installation of the AFCAD files into FS2002 please make sure that these files EURSWAFD.BGL / EURNWAFD.BGL are available in their Original version. The installation routine of EWPROF provides you with the original file version before EWPRO has been installed. These files called EUR**AFD_before_EWPROF_was_installed can be found in a subdirectory called \FS2002\scenedb\afdfiles\scenery\backup

Please rename these files as given above and copy them back into the directory FS2002\scenedb\afdfiles\scenery. Click YES to prompted warning.

Please pay attention to the following steps:
- Start the program AFCAD
- Go to File menu / IMPORT and search for the AFCAD text file (ex.
EDDI.txt, EDLW.txt etc.)
- Click SAVE

This short procedure IMPORT & SAVE has to be repeated for each airport of EWPROF.

that´s it
